Driving lessons are starting again in 2021!
On February the 23rd the roadmap for England coming out of lockdown was announced. The DVSA then made the following statement:
“In line with the government’s roadmap announcement driving and theory tests will resume no earlier than 12th April. DVSA is working closely with the government and will provide more information as soon as we are able to do so on other tests, lessons and training.”
The DVSA then issued the following statement on March 8th confirming the roadmap:

“Unless the government’s coronavirus data for England prevents the easing of restrictions as part of step 1 of the roadmap, we intent that from 29 March 2021 in England you can take the follow”
- A CBT
- Motorcycle lessons with instructors
- Bus driving lessons and test
- Tractor test
Step 2 to be confirmed on April 5th.
From 12 April 2021 in England you can take:
- Car lorry driving lessons with instructors and lorry tests
- Theory tests
- Motorcycle tests
To be confirmed on April 5th: 22nd April in 2021 in England:
- Car driving tests will restart
This means that automatic and manual driving lessons will resume from the 12th April 2021 in England. We’re just excited as you are to get driving lessons underway again! Driving lessons in Wales and Scotland have yet to be given confirmed dates and roadmaps.
